Professor D’Angelo teaches a variety of courses in the areas of Mass Media theory and Communication Research. He has taught at the State University of New York at Albany and Villanova University. Dr. D’Angelo holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from Temple University, and is the author of many articles, papers and book chapters focusing on news analysis and the roles of the press in contemporary society. His particular emphasis is on news framing research and he has edited a volume entitled Doing News Framing Analysis: Empirical and Theoretical Perspectives (Routledge 2010). D’Angelo’s most recent work focuses on public perceptions of the press, and how the press portrays itself.
