Susan McManimon, MA

Adjunct Professor

Ms. McManimon holds a position of an assistant adjunct professor at the College of New Jersey’s Department of Communication Studies and an adjunct professor position at Rider University’s Department of Communication and Journalism. Her professional teaching career spans 14 years at teaching communication at several universities in New Jersey. Susan is currently a PhD doctoral candidate at Indiana University studying Communication Media and Instructional Technology. She holds both a BA in Education and an MA in Communication Studies from Montclair State University.

Ms. McManimon is involved in teaching a variety of on-line and in-person classes including public speaking, communication theory, interpersonal communication, persuasion, conflict resolution, professional and strategic communication, and organizational communication, gender communication and new media. She teaches how to create a virtual portfolio for networking and job searches in her communication instruction as well as instructing on the use of social networking sites for professional and academic endeavors.

Additional professional experiences include speaking at national conferences on leadership and social networks and specializing as a trainer for an international relocation company where she provides communication consultation to pharmaceutical executives. Recent presentations include a workshop presentation on professional speaking for the Center for Business Effective School of Business at TCNJ and a paper presentation entitled Constructivist Approach to Employing Virtual Reality Learning Environments in Instruction at the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education International Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in March 2011.
